Therapeutic services

What to expect

On your first visit we will complete a psychosocial assessment to determine your treatment needs.

A psychosocial assessment is an evaluation of a patient's mental, physical, and emotional health. It analyzes aspects of a patient’s life such as upbringing, history of trauma, substance use history and criminal history, while also assessing the patient’s perception of self and his or her ability to function in the community.

Based on the information gathered during your psychosocial assessment we will determine a treatment approach and assist you with developing a plan that will help you reach your desired goals. Accordingly, we may recommend the following services:

Individual Psychotherapy, Family Psychotherapy and/or Substance Use Treatment

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is the use of psychological and behavioral techniques to assist an individual with improving maladaptive behaviors and/or managing symptoms associated with psychological disorders. The goal of psychotherapy is to improve the overall health of an individual, which includes emotional, mental and physical health. Psychological disorders and anti-social behaviors and attitudes are often influenced by distorted beliefs or thoughts. Psychotherapy assists individuals with recognizing these cognitive distortions, which ultimately leads to improved relationships and social skills. ECTS uses techniques such as mindfulness, art therapy, play therapy and music therapy to assist with the therapeutic process.
